Volunteer OPPORTUNITIES!
Virtual Thursday Night Meet-Ups (6:00-7:30 pm): Approximately 70 7th-12th grade Scholars meet up every Thursday to engage in college readiness activities like applying to magnet schools, working on interviewing skills, career exploration, college research, financial literacy, scholarship essays, and more. We ask that our Mentors commit to every Thursday night for at least a semester. If you feel like this is something you could commit to, click here to fill out an application.
Mock Interviews (December 4, 2021 - 9:30 am - 12:00 pm): We want to make sure our Scholars are confident and prepared going into their interviews for high school, for jobs, and for scholarships. Each year we do an interviewing workshop with Professionals and our Scholars to help them make sure their resumes, attire, and interviewing skills are on point. Contact Janet Morrison-Lane if you would like to assist in our Saturday workshop.
Networking Events (TBD): We recognize that networking is a crucial part of getting jobs and discovering pathways in life. Each year we offer our Scholars a Networking workshop so that they can practice connecting with professionals. If you are interested in being added to that list, please contact Janet Morrison-Lane.
Editing Scholarship Essays: Help students stay on track their senior year. Edit and critique their scholarship essays. Times and dates vary upon scholarship deadlines. Click here to contact Lupe Robles.
Event Planning: Are you part of a group who really likes to plan and put on parties or events? Come help us with College Signing Day, December Holiday Party, and Interviewing/Networking events! Click here to contact Janet Morrison-Lane.
Sponsor an Event: We need sponsors! If you would like to sponsor a table at one of our Networking/Interviewing events, provide food for a field trip, or provide college baskets for our Seniors on College Signing Day, click here to contact Janet Morrison-Lane!
Coordinate a Book Drive: Every year we deliver books to the elementary schools in the Vickery neighborhood. In addition, our Scholars LOVE to read. Please consider coordinating a book drive for our diligent readers. Click here for a list of books to purchase.
